  • 24 Hours, 200 Hackers, and a Little Bit of Magic: Hack Hack Goose Recap🌼 On April 3-4, we hosted Hack Hack Goose at UT Austin for our spring hackathon, which is typically our smaller, more intimate one. For 24 hours, our halls were filled with first-time hackers, first-generation students, and people from all kinds of majors coming together to build something, with Harnold cheering everyone on the whole way! This year, we had 400+ applications, 200 hackers, 8 volunteers, 15 judges, and 63 organizers & executives who poured their hearts into every detail. We kicked things off with a career fair & networking session because some of the best connections happen before a single line of code is written. Throughout the event, hackers jumped into workshops on team building & ideation, VIBE coding, Gemini + TechTogether, and pitching, giving everyone the tools to build confidently and present their best work. And don’t worry, everyone's bellies were full as we served meals and treats from local favorites, keeping energy high throughout the event. And in between the hacking, there were karaoke, movie nights, game nights, egg painting, and therapy dogs to keep the energy going (and the stress down). A huge thank you to our partners at Hudson River Trading, Virtu Financial, and The BHW Group. Thank you to everyone who made Hack Hack Goose possible: hackers, mentors, judges, volunteers, organizers, and executives. Your time, energy, and dedication built this amazing community.🐥🌿 Until next time, from Harnold and the whole Hack Hack Goose team.🪿🧺 #HackHackGoose #Hackathon #UTAustin

I'm proud to share that I won the Best Use of Solana at Hack Hack Goose, Freetail Hackers' spring UT Austin hackathon! I built Guardian Goose, a forensic engine that de-obfuscates raw Solana transaction data into human-readable detective reports. The Solana "Black Box" is one of the biggest security gaps for new users. Most people sign transactions they can't actually read, with unreadable hex and unknown program instructions, and that's exactly where malicious account substitutions and predatory scripts hide. Guardian Goose solves that. Guardian Goose uses the Helius API for deep transaction parsing, Google Gemini for reasoning and pattern recognition, and ElevenLabs for a native audio detective voice. It turns an opaque "wallet drained" moment into a clear, actionable post-mortem investigation. Huge thank you to Freetail Hackers and Major League Hacking for an incredible weekend. 🤘 Check out the project: https://lnkd.in/gG_Dze_R https://lnkd.in/gx8k7d-5 #solana #blockchain #helius #elevenlabs UT Austin Computer Science

Tired of taking screenshots and copying console logs just to fix tiny UI bugs? Meet Ayn, is an AI-powered tool designed to save frontend developers time and headaches. Instead of manually feeding context to your IDE agent, Ayn uses Google Cloud Gemini 2.5 Computer Use to automatically scan your website. Just ask it to find problems on your webpage, and it will orchestrate the prompts to: 📸 Gather screenshots automatically 💻 Pull logs straight from the console 🧠 Feed the data into a large language model to diagnose the exact issues and provide solutions Ayn can instantly identify a broken link, a hover animation error, a console error, and missing alt text! Huge shoutout to the Freetail Hackers HackTX 2025 winner, Best Use of Gemini 2.5 Computer Use Model! Nathan Negera, Abel Tadele, Kidus Beshah, and Bemnet Beshah! 👏 🔗 Check out how they built it on Devpost and connect with the team! https://lnkd.in/gbwHBpiP

So proud to share that our team won Best Design at Hack Hack Goose! A few days ago, we sat down with a wild idea: what if a goose could put you on trial? Not metaphorically. Literally. Your webcam becomes the witness stand. Your body language becomes the evidence. And a very serious, very unforgiving goose prosecutor decides your fate. Your only hope? Talk your way out of it. What started as a ridiculous premise turned into one of the most fun and rewarding builds I've been a part of. We laughed a lot, hit walls, figured it out, and laughed some more. Watching people play it for the first time, the panic, the negotiating with a goose, the dramatic verdicts, made every moment worth it. But honestly, the best part was the people I got to build it with. My teammates Sruthi Suresh and Sri Harini Kolluru brought so much creativity, heart, and energy to this. They took every chaotic idea seriously and made it real. I'm so grateful to have been in the room with them. I’d also like to thank Freetail Hackers for hosting such a wonderful event. Events like this remind me why I love creating things. Here's to more wild ideas and the people brave enough to build them! #FreetailHackers #HackHackGoose
