They stated that these procedures significantly contributed to a deeper understanding of the subject. However, they are not ready to accept a system of full implementation of this model, as they prefer live lectures, suggesting that they are not ready to take sufficient responsibility for their own personal study alone at home and need interaction with the teacher. In conclusion, the flipped classroom model could be leveraged to significantly reduce the use of the traditional lecture, overcome many of the limitations of traditional university teaching and learning approaches, and ultimately serve the student-centered learning approach.

Few studies have focused on the psychological adjustment of parents of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This study's objective was to investigate the parents' experience and the process of adjustment to the complex nature of their child's disorder. The study used a qualitative research design. Qualitative thematic analysis was used to analyze the data collected from parents (n=9) of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (n=10) using the technique of semi-structured interviews. The parents' experience is characterized by painful and recurrent losses, which intensify their feelings of isolation and parental responsibility. On the other hand, parents develop internal coping mechanisms and identify sources of empowerment, which they evaluate as positive aspects of their experience. Recurrent losses alternate with periods of stability, hope and efforts toward normalcy in family life. Results of this study implicate the importance of adequate psychosocial interventions that will allow parents to cope with complex challenges, elaborate on their experiences and identify internal and external resources.

The current study wishes to explore experiences of female professors-adult educators in relation to their professional role in modern Greece. This qualitative study was carried out in December 2013 and women, experienced adult educators, were asked to critically reflect on their experience in the field. Content analysis was used for analyzing the responses. The participants, women adult educators, seemed to be aware of gender discrimination issues. At the same time, they were highly interested about the development of the role of women adult educators in Greece through critical reflections and also, the quality of their work and their own creative development and job satisfaction. Current research suggests that at the current climate of socio-economic and political crisis, greater emphasis is placed on the quality of educating rather than on gender issues.

Student Run Biology Workshop (SRBW) is an innovative, self-directed learning project, carried out by the students of the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics, in the Democritus University of Thrace-Greece. Our aim was to find out whether this educational experience was a transformative experience, as well. Qualitative research method was used; data was collected in December 2017 at the end of three feedback discussions by personally-written opinion documents and proceeded through Content Analysis. Results showed that students’ participation and consequently their teamwork within the SRBW energized them to face assumptions, to engage in new concerns, to adopt alternative learning practices, to gain a critical and comprehensive understanding of Biosciences and their role within ...

Specifically, the training course objectives are to determine whether there are changes in their way of teaching, due to the adult learning process they have followed, and also to identify the factors philologists believe that affect the use of ICT in their teaching practice. Qualitative research was conducted using focused interviews as the main tool. Additionally, two diaries were used, the informants' and the researchers' diary. The sample was eight philologists who successfully attended this training course and they taught at Kavala's secondary education schools. Content analysis was chosen for data processing. The findings showed that the trained philologists acquired new knowledge and skills and cultivated fresh attitudes on the pedagogical use of new technologies. However, factors that might hinder the use of ICT (such as conflict with traditional teaching strategies, poor equipment, etc.) combined with the lack of feedback, led some of them reduce or even abandon the use of ICT in the classroom, which underlines the necessity of a strong follow-up process.

For Bioscientists inGreecefinding a job is not easy, especially recently, due to a severe economic crisis the country goes through, which has negatively affected the labor market. Although their academic curricula during their graduate studies strongly urge them towards research, most of them make a living as teachers in high schools. This study is a quality research on Bioscientists’s career in Education inGreece. Data was collected through interviews and the sample includes 16 Greek Bioscientists –seven working in Education and nine in other areas. For the results, Content Analysis was used and it revealed that for those working in a high school, although it wasn’t always their first choice, it turned out to be a good job alternative. For those who didn’t choose Secondary Education to work in, Academia is considered as an excellent career option but the limitation of available positions makes them turn to other employmen...

The sample, consisting of 215 graduate students of high school and their parents (210), evaluated the importance they think the examined job skills have for the students' future entry into the labor market and also the extend to which the youngsters possess these skills. Results have shown that there were significant differences between students' and their parents' opinions with regard to gender concerning job skills that are considered as important for finding a job. This was also confirmed by the factor analysis applied. Significant gender differences were also found concerning the degree to which teenagers possess the examined skills. In concluding, male young students and their fathers believe that skills related to self-management, self-discipline and the use of technological means are more important for finding a job, whilst female young students and their mothers outline a more positive and social profile, confirming typical and stereotypical attitudes and vocational choices.
