We’re considering issuing certificates specifically for course cohort students. Unlike automated course completion certificates—which can sometimes be misused—cohorts are different. In a cohort, students must actively participate in regular classes, complete assessments, and pass an exam before earning a certificate.

We’re planning to host regular workshops within the Training Team, covering a variety of WordPress-related topics. To help us shape these sessions, we’d love to hear your feedback!:
What topics would you like us to cover?
How long do you think each workshop should be?
Do you have any other suggestions for making these workshops more valuable?
Your input will help us create engaging and impactful learning experiences for the community. Special Thanks to @clk87 for offering help in this area.
We’ve made significant progress on the thumbnail generator project, with most thumbnails successfully updated. However, a few content thumbnails still use outdated designs or don’t comply with our thumbnail generator guidelines. If you’re interested in volunteering for this task, simply leave a comment, and we’ll provide the necessary instructions to get started.
We need help from contributors, they will just visit all learn WordPress posts and list the url of lesson where thumbnails need to redesign. We can guide them, but we need some interested persons.

@piyopiyofox said that she had two things she wanted to bring up:
She had mentioned the upcoming course cohort in the Monthly Education Buzz Report for July 2025, and added that if there were any other educational initiatives the Training Team was working on — such as a new course cohort, new learning pathways, or tutorials — she would like to be informed so she could include them in the next edition.
She asked if the Training team would be open for sharing space at the table with her and @peiraisotta to talk about WordPress Campus Connect and WordPress Credits, if folks ask about it? Mostly informational.

As agreed in our last meeting, we’ll continue holding the coffee hour weekly until the end of September. After that, we can revisit the frequency and decide whether to move to a bi-weekly or monthly schedule.
The decision is still open for feedback—if you feel the current plan should remain as is or have suggestions for a different approach, please feel free to share your opinion.
Looking for volunteers
Although coffee hours are open discussions where everyone is equal, we still need someone to host each session. The host will be responsible for managing the Zoom meeting and ensuring everyone can join smoothly. If you’re interested in hosting an upcoming session, please comment below.
We need to update all the handbook and course/lesson content. For starters, we need to find and label all outdated content and create a list of all broken links – this can be a great start for new contributors! Just read the handbook and find something that does not sound right. And please inform us!
Update for last weeks triage squad
No meeting last week.
Other news
The coffee hours have been added to the meeting announcement. As you know, we list all key Training Team activities in the highlighted post and also schedule the monthly meeting there. This month’s meeting list has been updated, and the coffee hour date is now included. You can check the details here.
Come and Contribute
We have various ways that you can contribute to the Training team. Including development, content creation, editing and more. We have various open issues available for you to get started.
On top of this, I have been going through our helpscout queue on a weekly basis and addressing all content reports that can be addressed immediately, this has kept our awaiting fix queue at bay. We have had multiple reports over the last 8 months of courses being out of order. I have now adjusted three pathways to fix this. So if you notice they are out of order again, please let us know.
Let’s give props! Do you have someone from the team you want to celebrate?

Over the past two weeks, @rfluethi has been leading a learning group through the complete Beginner WordPress User learning path, which not only helped train participants but also gave him insights into effectively facilitating such groups. He mentioned that next week he’ll be launching the German-language mentorship program for new contributors and is seeking tips or best practices to run it effectively. In response, @devmuhib appreciated his efforts, saying “That’s awesome!” Meanwhile, @vasantrajput shared an update that he has completed two Gujarati translations and they are ready for review.

@rjekic mentioned that there are only three days left to select a Table Lead for WordCamp US, so the team needs to act quickly. He asked if anyone knows of a Training team member who will be attending WC US. He also pointed out that the GitHub issues are getting cluttered and emphasized the need to validate feedback and respond to open issues. He invited anyone willing to help to feel free to pingPingThe act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point.
