A smart meter neighborhood area network is usually regarded as the last mile network, which plays a significant role for communications in smart grid. A neighborhood area network typically consists of smart meters and Data Aggregation Points (DAPs), which collect energy consumption or billing information from smart meters and forward the information to wide area network gateways via wireless communications. The location of DAPs significantly affects the distance and associated transmission routes between DAPs and smart meters. In this paper, we investigate the DAP placement problem and propose solutions to reduce the distance between DAPs and smart meters. Specifically, the DAP placement problem is formulated with two objectives, e.g., the average distance minimization and the maximum distance minimization. The concept of network partition is introduced in this paper and two associated algorithms are developed to address the DAP placement problem. Extensive simulations are conducted based on a real suburban neighborhood topology. The simulation results verify that the proposed solutions are able to remarkably reduce the communication distance between DAPs and their associated smart meters.

This paper describes the development of a nationwide public healthcare service system with the integration of cloud technology, wireless sensor networks, and mobile technology to provide citizens with convenient and professional healthcare services. The basic framework of the system includes the architectures for the user end of wireless physiological examinations, for the regional healthcare cloud, and for national public healthcare service system. Citizens with chronic conditions or elderly people who are living alone can use the wireless physiological sensing devices to keep track of their health conditions and get warning if the system detects abnormal signals. Software reliability growth model (SRGM) with modified testing-effort function (TEF) is a function to evaluate and foresee the parameters of the data. Reliability of software is portrayed as the distinct possibility that for a predefined time, a software package will continue to run on an advance domain without frustration. SRGM utilized a few optimization procedure algorithms to advance the parameters by bifurcating them into a few stages however to upgrade the technique by using all of the parameters at the same time, the algorithm utilized is the chaotic grey wolf optimization algorithm (CGWO). CGWO is an advanced heuristic system for portraying the execution by achieving complex parameter optimization and designing application issues. Different parametric reliabilities rely upon the attributes or characteristics of the data. The parameters are predicted using the Pham–Zhang (PZ) model. Tandem computer software dataset DS1 and DS2 are used to compare the predicted parameter of SRGM obtained by Pham–Zhang (PZ) model using testing effort functions (TEFs) based on the evaluation metrics mean square error (MSE), relative error (RE) and coefficient of determination (R 2 ). To enhance the reliability of SRGM, the parameters of SRGM estimated using TEF and enhanced using chaotic maps to improve search performance. By using the constrained benchmark functions the results of chaotic maps are obtained. Based on the chaotic graph results, the Chebyshev graph shows a good convergence rate of 78%. Overall, 86% of the results revealed an association between the choice variable and fitness criteria for CGWO. In the SRGM using CGWO, the expected result is completely mechanized and does not require any client necessity.

The process of text summarization is to identify the crux of the document. In the proposed work, summarization is done using three different algorithms. They are sentence based key term weightage, the two way local context information scoring (LCIS) and the fuzzy graph sentence scoring (FGSS). They are used to improve the weight of the key terms, identify LCIS and the centroid of the document by calculating FGSS score respectively. This intelligent system assigning sentence based weightage to the key terms is found to be effective. The present method is domain and language independent. It provides good harmonic mean in comparison with the earlier studies and does not require any training or testing.

Abstract-Multicast is an efficient paradigm for transmitting data from a sender to a group of receivers. In this paper, we focus on multicast in single channel multi-access wireless local area networks (LANs) comprising several small cells. In such a system, a receiver cannot correctly receive a packet if two or more packets are sent to it at the same time, because the packets “collide. ” Therefore, one has to ensure that only one node sends at a time. We look at two important issues. First, we consider the problem of the sender acquiring the multi-access channel for multicast transmission. Second, for reliable multicast in each cell of the wireless LAN, we examine ARQ-based approaches. The second issue is important because the wireless link error rates can be very high. Abstract. This paper addresses the problem of secure path key es-tablishment in wireless sensor networks that uses the random key pre-distribution technique. Inspired by the recent proxy-based scheme in [1] and [2], we introduce a friend-based scheme for establishing pairwise keys securely. We show that the chances of finding friends in a neigh-bourhood are considerably more than that of finding proxies, leading to lower communication overhead. Further, we prove that the friend-based scheme performs better than the proxy-based scheme in terms of resilience against node capture. 1

The problem of secure unicast communication over a two hop Amplify-and-Forward wireless relay network with multiple eavesdroppers is considered. Assuming that a receiver (destination or eavesdropper) can decode a message only if the received SNR is above a predefined threshold, we consider this problem in two scenarios. In the first scenario, we maximize the SNR at the legitimate destination, subject to the condition that the received SNR at each eavesdropper is below the target threshold. Due to the non-convex nature of the objective function and eavesdroppers’ constraints, we transform variables and obtain a quadratically constrained quadratic program (QCQP) with convex constraints, which can be solved efficiently. When the constraints are not convex, we consider a semidefinite relaxation (SDR) to obtain computationally efficient approximate solution. In the second scenario, we minimize the total power consumed by all relay nodes, subject to the condition that the received SNR at the legitimate destination is above the threshold and at every eavesdropper, it is below the corresponding threshold. We propose a semidefinite relaxation of the problem in this scenario and also provide an analytical lower bound.
