Most people didn't choose their currency. They were born into it. It's one of those ideas that sounds simple until you sit with it. Ryne Saxe is the founder of Eco. Physicist. Lawyer. Builder. He saw the stablecoin opportunity in 2018 before most people knew what a stablecoin was. Backed by a16z speedrun, Founders Fund and Pantera Capital, he built the first full-featured stablecoin neobank in the US, then rebuilt the whole thing as infrastructure when the market was ready for it. Today Eco runs on Solana, routing digital dollars at scale for fintechs, issuers and institutions. Seven years of one thesis, executed with remarkable patience. "Money flows like fluid dynamics. If you give it the opportunity, it will choose the path of least resistance, lowest cost, fastest clearance." But the conversation that stayed with me went beyond infrastructure. For the first time, people are going to have real currency choice. Not just which bank account to open. Which currency to trust. And if some of the currencies we take for granted start to falter, that choice stops being philosophical and becomes very practical very fast. It's either the most destabilising shift in modern finance. Or the most equitable opportunity people have ever had. Ryne believes early builders get to decide which one it becomes. And he's been building toward the optimistic outcome since before anyone was paying attention. Watch the full episode here. https://lnkd.in/g8njs-4s or listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/giu6vpBA
