MX Linux is one of the most complete and underrated Linux distributions available today. Built on Debian Stable with its own suite of 37+ tools, multiple init system options, and a gaming-ready kernel — this is the distro that works for everyone, from Linux beginners to advanced users. No paywalls. No corporate agenda. Just a system that respects you. MX Linux is a cooperative venture between the antiX and MX Linux communities. It is a family of operating systems built by users from Debian Stable repositories that are designed to combine elegant and efficient desktops with high stability and solid performance. MX’s graphical tools provide an easy way to do a wide variety of tasks, while the Live USB and snapshot tools inherited from antiX add impressive portability and remastering capabilities. After being tired of Ubuntu as my daily driver, I tried various OSs as dual boot option with it. I got to know how easy it is to make a Linux-based OS's bootable drive from the built-in Disks app, no need for third party software or creating complex partition formats manually; and how tough it is to make a Windows bootable drive in Ubuntu: the popular third party tool Ventoy has blobs which made me not to choose it (remember Jia Tan from the XZ incident?), and manual way was quite complex but I tried that too. Lastly, between Linux Mint Cinnamon and Zorin OS 18, I chose to go with Zorin, although it's an Ubuntu wrapper, but it's beautiful, plus it automatically fixed my Ubuntu's refresh rate, and sound cracking problems. Have you tried any other OS?

I just released version 2.1.0 of an open-source project I've been working on. If you use Linux, you probably know how much a well-designed desktop environment can impact your daily workflow — having something clean and informative on your screen can be surprisingly motivating. This project focuses on building a modern Conky setup without relying on Lua, aiming for simplicity, portability and maintainability. It’s been an interesting experience balancing usability and technical decisions while keeping everything lightweight. Repo: https://lnkd.in/dq2zhajN Would love to hear feedback from others using Conky or customizing their Linux environments.
