After being tired of Ubuntu as my daily driver, I tried various OSs as dual boot option with it. I got to know how easy it is to make a Linux-based OS's bootable drive from the built-in Disks app, no need for third party software or creating complex partition formats manually; and how tough it is to make a Windows bootable drive in Ubuntu: the popular third party tool Ventoy has blobs which made me not to choose it (remember Jia Tan from the XZ incident?), and manual way was quite complex but I tried that too. Lastly, between Linux Mint Cinnamon and Zorin OS 18, I chose to go with Zorin, although it's an Ubuntu wrapper, but it's beautiful, plus it automatically fixed my Ubuntu's refresh rate, and sound cracking problems. Have you tried any other OS?

Linux Delivers 20%+ Speed Boost for Local LLM Inference via Ollama 📌 Linux slashes local LLM inference latency by up to 118% faster than Windows-thanks to tighter kernel-GPU sync and reduced overhead. Ollama runs smoother on Linux, especially with heavy MoE models like Qwen3-30B, making it the clear winner for AI devs chasing speed. For clusters or real-time apps, this isn’t just a tweak-it’s a game-changer. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dRx8HKiN #Ollama #Linux #Llm #Rtx8000 #Ubuntu

In 1991, a Finnish student named Linus Torvalds started a small, open-source hobby project called Linux. He wasn’t trying to dominate the tech world. He was simply building something useful. Fast forward to today: 1. Linux powers 100% of the world’s top 500 supercomputers 2. Runs over 96% of the top web servers 3. Drives 3+ billion Android devices What started as curiosity became the backbone of modern technology. #Linux #Innovation #techgrowth #futureoftech #thecomputerguyz

1wDo the tests also take into account the customized GNOME desktop environment in Ubuntu? Because there are many things to mention, such as the application auto-start feature, which can't be activated, among other minor details that need polishing. I've been using Ubuntu Desktop for quite some time, but there are still things I need to recommend or tell people to configure so that it works perfectly. Furthermore, in the App Center, if you already have an app and want to install a new version of the .deb file, it doesn't appear as an option; it says it's already installed. If they fix these issues, which are crucial for everyday users, this platform will grow rapidly.
