Nobody tells you this about farming: You can nail the agronomy, the method, the purchasing the marketing, the timing, the whole plan…and it can all be ripped away from so many factors outside of your control. That alone is a mind fvck.

Its time to officially introduce Aggregate Agronomics! AA is a precision agronomy company that’s data-driven and farmer-focused. The goal is simple: lead with agronomy to make decisions that align with your goals, improve your operation, and take care of the land. Services will focus around: • Grid soil sampling & fertility planning • Precision ag data analysis & management zone creation • Variable rate prescriptions (seed, fertility, and more) • Crop scouting & in-season recommendations We really appreciate the early support from those that have already followed along. It doesn’t go unnoticed. Getting something like this off the ground takes people willing to believe in it early, and that means a lot! 🎬New four-part video series on WA legumes just released! WA Growers are well aware of the benefits grain legumes can have for their farming system, but often have concerns about variable yields and in-season profitability which limits confidence to adopt them more broadly. A Grains Research and Development Corporation investment, with the Grower Group Alliance aims to address some of the biggest constraints to grain legume adoption in a four-part video series, which tackles the agronomy, profitability, marketing, and harvesting of grain legumes in WA. From the classroom to the grove. The Hazelnut Agronomy Program held its first on-site session in Salerno, a milestone for the technical school co-created by EIIS, Ferrero, and Ordine dei dottori agronomi e dei dottori forestali - CONAF. This program is a concrete example of how industry, institutions, and education can collaborate to build a more sustainable and knowledgeable agricultural sector.

Should Michigan growers prioritize planting soybean or corn? Michigan State University Cropping Systems Agronomy, led by Benjamin Agyei, Ph.D. analyzed multiyear soybean and corn planting date data. Planting dates for both crops ranged from mid or late April through late-June. Overall, the results indicated that planting corn too early may result in yield losses, therefore through the end of April soybean planting should be prioritized. Corn yield is optimal when planted between the first and third week of May. As planting date is delayed, greater yield penalties are observed with corn, therefore the focus should be planting soybean from late may onwards. Reef Catchments is partnering with leading agronomy and industry groups to support sugarcane growers in the Mackay–Whitsunday–Isaac region through the Reefwise Farming project. Running until 2028, the project will assist up to 60 growers to improve nutrient and pesticide management through practical, profitable on-farm solutions that protect productivity while delivering positive water quality outcomes for local waterways and the Great Barrier Reef. Growers can access tailored agronomy advice, 50:50 co-investment grants for equipment upgrades, learning resources and peer-to-peer extension opportunities.
