SQL / SSIS Developer Job Description

12 Month Contract (High potential for conversion or extension)

Remote

$50-55/hr on W2


  • Design and develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views for data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • packages for robust data integration and ETL workflows, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand data integration needs.
  • Perform data analysis and develop data models to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Optimize SQL queries and database performance through hands‑on performance tuning, root‑cause analysis of slow or poorly designed queries, and implementation of best practices to achieve maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database and data integration issues.
  • Monitor and maintain data quality and data governance standards.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL and SSIS processes.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Microsoft T-SQL/SSIS Developer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL programming, with hands-on experience in writing complex queries, developing and tuning stored procedures and optimizing SQL performance.
  • Solid understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and data migration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven good attitude and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other dialects of SQL compliant with ANSI SQL standards like Snowflake-SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL are a plus.
  • Experience with commonly used data modeling techniques for data warehouse reporting and querying, including Dimensional Modeling, and experience with MS SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) using Multidimensional and/or Tabular models, is a plus.
  • Experience with Implementing data integration and ETL processes using Python Environment are a plus.
  • Experience with Developing Reports using BI Tools like SSRS, Power BI, Tableau are a plus.
  • Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git, TFS) and CI/CD pipelines would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripts to automate routine system administration tasks would be a plus.
  • Relevant Microsoft SQL Server–focused certifications (legacy MCSA/MCSE or equivalent) demonstrating expertise in SQL Server development, data modeling, and business intelligence solution are a plus.
