    🚨 Macy’s just unlocked a cheat code in ecommerce. Forget the loyalty card. Forget the seasonal sale. Macy's just dropped an AI shopping assistant called "Ask Macy's" - and early users are spending nearly 5 times more than everyone else. Yes, you read that right. FIVE TIMES. So what is this thing, exactly? 🤔 Built on Google's Gemini platform, Ask Macy's launched across all the retailer's digital platforms in late March - and it's already got shoppers hooked on two killer features: "Complete the Look" outfit recommendations and virtual try-on tools. Think less chatbot, more digital stylist that actually knows what it's talking about. But WHY are people spending so much more? 💡 Here's the dirty little secret nobody wants to admit: customers using the chatbot tend to arrive with a specific mission - like finding shoes for an event - rather than aimlessly scrolling. AI doesn't create desire. It just closes the gap between "I need something" and "I just bought three things." And the rest of retail? Absolutely panicking 😱 The fear is real - if retailers don't build their own AI, shoppers will just ask ChatGPT instead and take their wallets elsewhere.  As Max Magni, Macy's Chief Customer and Digital Officer, put it: "This is anybody's game. Nobody has cracked the code." About 40% of the top 20 U.S. retailers have already rolled out some form of AI shopping - most of them since mid-2025. The arms race is real, it's loud, and it's happening right now. The plot twist? Macy's really needed this 🙌 The brand is fighting back after nearly a decade of declining sales - net sales dropped 2.4% last year alone. Ask Macy's isn't just a shiny new feature. It's a lifeline dressed up as a chatbot. The bottom line no one wants to say out loud 👇 The future of retail isn't better products or bigger discounts. It's whoever builds the AI that feels least like talking to a robot - and most like having a friend who genuinely knows fashion. Macy's just made a very loud first move.
