Deeptanshu Baranwal posted thisDate: 4th June, 2024 Unrealised loss at opening: ~₹14 lakh Booked loss: ₹7 lakh The biggest loss I had seen in my account since I started trading. Yet, it didn’t shake my mood much. Not because I didn’t care but because I had detached myself from wins and losses. That didn’t happen overnight. It took me 3-4 years of constant improvement to wire myself for a day like this. Earlier, every trade was personal. Win = I’m smart Loss = I’m stupid So I changed how I measured trades. I stopped tracking P&L. I started tracking process. My journal had just one question: Did I follow my rules? Trade won, rules broken → RED Trade lost, rules followed → GREEN Over time, this rewired my thinking. Now: Losses don’t disturb me if rules were followed. Wins don’t excite me if rules weren’t. I recovered my losses in next 2-3 months. But the real win? My mood no longer belongs to the market. Trading stopped teaching me profits- and taught me emotional control, patience, discipline, and humility instead.

Deeptanshu Baranwal posted thisHow to take decisions fast (product management style): Year: 2009 ; Company: Huawei ; Client: Reliance ; Circle: UP West It was a Friday evening. Time : ~9 PM. I was looking at hourly reports. Two towers stood out. Calls were getting dropped. Again and again. A rural area. Unusual surge in traffic for the towers compared day over day. It was festival time. Likely a local mela. A large gathering. People were trying to call. Calls were not connecting. That time we only had 2G/ EDGE available. Data usage was low. I couldn’t reach my Chinese counterpart. I couldn’t reach my Indian counterpart. I still went ahead. I had to decide fast. I changed priorities. Calls were given preference. Data channels were reduced. The change ran all weekend. Friday. Saturday. Sunday. Call drops reduced drastically. Network served the crowd. On Monday, the client called. He asked why I did it without approval. My answer was simple. Users wanted to make calls. Not browse the internet. When you are in a dilemma. Always keep users first. Then take the decision. Most times. That is the right 'CALL' (pun intended). #Productmanagment #decisionmaking #stayingcurious

I’m curious by nature. I like learning new things. I’m always open to exploring. Back in 2019, I took my first real step into trading. Until then, I had only invested in stocks for about an year. Trading felt scary. Confusing. Exciting. I started with F&O around that time. It’s been 6–7 years now. The money matters, of course. But honestly, that’s not the biggest takeaway. Investing and trading taught me discipline. It taught me patience. It taught me how to control my emotions when things go wrong. It taught me consistency. And humility. Every loss teaches something. Every win reminds you to stay grounded. There is still a lot to learn. Markets always keep you on your toes. I don’t know exactly where this journey will lead. But I’m grateful for how far it has come. Staying curious. #curious #learning #stockmarket

Before AI, every piece of work had a natural stopping point — I ran out of knowledge, or patience, or time, or it was done. The output was bounded by my capacity, which also meant it was bounded by my expectation. I knew roughly what I'd get before I started. AI broke that. It didn't raise the ceiling. It removed it. Now my imagination sets the scope. And imagination has no natural edge. I can go one layer deeper into any subtopic. Branch into angles I'd never have pursued because the cost was too high. Iterate, refine, challenge, reframe — indefinitely. The work is never done because "done" was always a proxy for "I've run out of capacity." That constraint no longer applies. This created a new discipline: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠. Earlier, the work stopped me. Now I have to stop the work. And stopping feels like leaving value on the table — because I can see the next layer waiting. The gap between what exists and what's possible is always visible, always within reach, never fully closed. This is different from perfectionism. Perfectionism is anxiety over what I've already made. This is abundance — the awareness that more is genuinely available. The next depth level isn't a fantasy. It's one prompt away. The skill AI made newly important for me is not prompting or iteration. It is 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 — knowing what good enough looks like when good enough is no longer a technical constraint but a chosen one. AI gave me more. And "more" turns out to be its own kind of problem. My response - I can give the top line which we know by now. I will add words like approx and notations like +, ~ Proveen - ok My response - So I can say we did 230 crore+ in revenue Praveen - yes My response - Can I say we have done well - approx 10% EBITDA positive, cash positive and we are a zero cash burn company. During the La Ultra, there was a moment where my body simply quit. My brain was screaming: "You’ve done enough. A finish isn't worth this." In the Special Forces, we call this the 40% Rule. When your mind says you're done, you're actually only at 40% of your physiological capacity. The Resilience Framework: Micro-Goals: Don't look at the remaining 31km. Look at the next 100 meters. Self-Talk Audit: Replace "I can't" with "How can I?" External Focus: Think of the team/family waiting for you. Purpose outlasts pain. So What? And it's live in 26 banks already. (most people in finance haven't even heard of it) Here's what MuleHunter.AI actually does: The Reserve Bank Innovation Hub built it in-house. No vendor. No outsourcing. It was trained on 19 specific patterns that mule accounts typically follow → transaction velocity, account age, fund layering, rapid cross-transfers. Traditional rule-based systems catch the obvious ones. MuleHunter catches the ones that look normal on the surface. The numbers behind this matter: → Banking fraud in India tripled to ₹36,014 crore in FY25 → 8.5 lakh mule accounts were uncovered across bank branches → Online financial fraud accounts for 67.8% of all cybercrime complaints Two large PSU banks piloted it first. Results were strong enough that RBI Governor Malhotra publicly called it a "good success rate." Now it's scaling fast. Here's what this means for finance professionals: AI in Indian banking isn't just chatbots and loan approvals anymore.
