Update: Not books!
Apr. 11th, 2026 07:45 amSince my last personal update,
- Easter: I finally put up my Christmas decorations, laid out my decorative baskets, eggs, and bunnies, and wore green to my local sister's for a nice family afternoon.
- Work: Client decided last week they don't have enough room for us dirty contractors any more and told us only to come in for meetings we were specifically told to come in person for. My hour to hour-and-a-half each way commuting is dropping from 2x/week to maybe once/twice a month!

Date: 2026-04-14 03:15 am (UTC)1) a lot of Polytopia, but that is too conquest-oriented for my taste, although I like the different tribes with the different starting abilities and the variable terrains.
2) So then I started playing Garden Joy. We accumulate trees, water lilies, shrubs, patio furniture, etc., and landscape/decorate scenes given to us (e.g., decorate this Seattle backyard). My Minneapolis sister is playing it too, and we've each committed to only playing with items we earn in the game, not paying out of pocket for anything extra. We share our favorite creations with each other. I can look up my designer # if anyone wants to look me up there.
3) And for another pretty, not-so-smite-enemies game, I've added Jigmerge, a series of jigsaw puzzles except the pieces are rectangles that snap together sort of magnetically with satisfying noises.
On Board Game Arena, mostly weird variants of Splendor and Azul, with some Euchre thrown in. I keep meaning to remind myself how to invite friends to a game and try to schedule Euchre with a particular friend.
