Revelation 3:16 Part 1

I once signed my name with this verse under it. Most use happy and loving verses when signing. My daughter noticed, and said, “MOM!!! Why are you being so mean?” I answered her with all the love I could manage to muster that moment. Holly was grown at the time, not a child (married and a world traveler). I helped her hear in her heart that anyone can sign a sweet snuggly verse that makes the masses merry as a Christmas morn. I told her, honey, so many claim to be Christians, but many may not realize that they’re not! I want every Christian to read Revelation chapters 2 & 3, and see which church they are! They MUST know before it’s too late!!! If I write Rev 3:16 with a note they’ll read the verse when they get home, for that’s what we do. We want to see which verse a minister writes with his/her signature. Hopefully, they’ll read the surrounding message, being the 7 churches. She did grasp my goal. Thinking about her initial reaction kept me from sleeping that night. Having several insomniac friends, I put a similar question out to them, and all I can say is Divine Intervention stepped in. One of my dearest Christian friends was awake. She said she loved the idea of a more serious message…but instead of making my readers or listeners guess why I used this verse, why not sign your name, plus Revelation chapters 2&3, and the question, “Which church are you?” I gave her the biggest hug possible on-line, and that’s how I sign everything now.

Church at Ephesus Part 3

The church at Ephesus is the first church mentioned. Are they the best or worst? Biggest or smallest? Oldest or youngest?
NO!
John wrote his Revelation from Jesus while he was jailed on the aisle of Patmos. If you look at a map of the seven churches, Ephesus is the closest church to Patmos, and John continued clockwise from there. It’s really as plain as that.

Jesus calls Himself “he who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.” Revelation 2:1

The seven stars have been interrupted in a few different ways, so I’ll leave it to you to look those up and decide. All interpretations make valid sense. Jesus walking among the seven golden lampstands is each of the seven churches.

His confirmations of the church of Ephesus include:

The 7 Churches Part 2

Revelation chapters 2 & 3 is Jesus giving John the what’s what about the Church as a whole, or as a 7 sliced pie.

John receives a Church name, Jesus’ description of Himself, the deeds they’re doing devotedly, the problems practiced without penitence, He tells those who will to weigh His words, and promises those who hear, hearken, and heed His forewarning, a gift to come later, and one last plea to hear Him.

This happens in every instance, save one, which we will get to as we travel through church by church.

Won’t you walk with me around the ancient world to check on ourselves❓⁉️ Wouldn’t we wonder if we’ve been tricked, trapped, or just never knew the whole truth though our own failure? What if we thought we were Christians all of our lives, but weren’t! Did we read the whole Bible? Understand it? Do we know who Abigail is? Jehoshaphat? Jonathan? Do you open the Bible to a random page, and begin where our finger lands, believing that’s what the Holy Spirit wants us to know? G-d wrote us ALL 66 LOVE LETTERS. Who allows a love letter 💌 to stay sealed? Soldiers patiently wait for mail call. Those in distant war countries must possess prodigious patience, but imagine one of them getting a gifted envelope from his girl, and putting it in a box 📦. Two, three, four tours of duty, and the box is filled with sealed notes?! NO! Never happens! Those boys in uniform tear into those letters faster than the maximum speed of Cassini (42,000mph), envelope be confetti to get to her words of love 💕. Yet, only 20% of Americans have read the whole Bible. This is disturbing because many of the people are “other,” different religions, Jews reading Tanakh. Leaving many fewer than 20% of Christians have read the entire Bible. 😢 Plus, 37% of Christians have read the “Life of Pi,” 22% have read “Twilight, (a trilogy about 🧛‍♀️ 🧛‍♂️ vampires… Really? I cannot wrap my brain around that statistic – more American Christians have read the Twilight Sagas than the Bible.) Finally, “The Hunger Games” comes in at 21%. A few honorable mentions… “50 Shades of Gray” 19%, I don’t even want to give this a second thought, let alone come up with some purpose that Christians would ever pick up such a book!!! I’m no prude, I’ve been happily married for 32 years, and with our first granddaughter having her one-month birthday in two days – these two grandparents still like sex! We just find no reason to read about someone else’s love life. And this book is almost equal in readership with the WORD of G-d Almighty, Creator of the heavens and the earth! “Game of Thrones” 18%, and “The Hobbit 16%.

Now, the question before us is who is a Christian, and who is a fake? There are hundreds of Bible Verses to get to, but because of my site name, we must begin at the end. Let us all pay attention, and change what we must, repent when we find need, ask others for forgiveness if we’ve sinned against them, change this or that when the Bible says. The only truth I’ll use is the Bible. I’ll take nothing out of its context, explain its context if there’s more to add from another part of the Bible.

For example, when the Jews were taken captive to Babylon, they were taken in two separate groups. The first group were the strong, smart, and splendidly stunning. This wave of prisoners were to be trained to be taught to serve King Nebuchadnezzar, and the Palace. (Only the most lovely being could be seen inside the Palace…as a weed would stick out like a sore thumb in the Gardens if Versailles – so would a common character on Nebuchadnezzar’s grounds.

This batch of servants were lead by the Prophet Daniel.

The second group was any man, woman, or child who could be used as a slave outside. Nobody cares what the gardener or the field workers look like. These slaves were lead by the Prophet Ezekiel.

Those that were too young, not strong, sickly, or too old were left in a broken and ransacked Jerusalem. This group was lead by the Prophet Jeremiah.

All three of these books are very diverse, yet one adds to the other. To say one knows the Biblical history of Babylon, having only read Daniel – is lying. There’s just no nicer word. To know Babylon you must know all three plus the sections of Kings and Chronicles that correspond to the three kings involved.

Back to Revelation 2 & 3.

Ministering today is tough. Finding pure love (agape) is almost impossible! Love is more inconceivable if one isn’t interested in your precise point of view, you’re under immediate scrutiny – even if you’ve been friends for dozens of years.

Our country has changed dramatically and drastically over the past few years. I tragically think we are closer to Civil War as we were since The Civil War! Are we just catching up with the world? Is that a slap in the face to the world? I think so, because few countries trust, respect, or approve of us anymore. How can they? We don’t trust nor like ourselves.

I don’t even think invidiousness is now too strong of a word. Our country has divided itself over nonsensical half -truths that turn a deaf ear to “Fact Check.” The truth of the thing is that we are Christians of LOVE LOST! Everything bad is winning. AND America admittedly and arrogantly could care less, as long as their side is winning…
We believ
n fact is so simple to find. When we listen to a commentary, and fall for their counterfeit interpretation of infallibility.
Oh, I hav
eists. No. Christians are just as nasty if not nastier than any other Americans.

Try again, the Christians are simply dividing themselves into the sheep and the goats. Revelation 1:20-3:21 tells us what Jesus shows John about the seven churches. If the church, since the first century, didn’t attempt to fix its issues… We know the church hasn’t gotten any better because all seven are still in existence. My thought is, since it’s been 2 millennia, those seven churches aren’t going anywhere. This would mean that 6 out of 7 who claim Christianity, won’t be swept away in the Rapture. Perhaps, sense will return, and they’ll help lead many more to the Lord during the Tribulation – this is only my guess.
The Bible

1. “Like a coating of silver dross on earthenware are fervent lips with an evil heart. Enemies disguise themselves with their lips, but in their hearts they harbors deceit in his heart.” Proverbs 26:23-24″

2. “The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.” Isaiah 28:13.

3. “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.” Matthew 7:13”

4. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” Matthew 7:21-23.”

5. “I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.” Romans 16:17-18.”

6. “Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.” James 1:26”

There are at least twenty more like those, but I think I’ve made it clear that we’re not all real.

To be continued in Part 3.
