Our teams have been building with a 2.5x-faster version of Claude Opus 4.6. We’re now making it available as an early experiment via Claude Code and our API. Fast mode is more expensive to run. It’s for urgent, high-stakes projects, like a prototype under time pressure, or a multi-day project your team needs done now. Fast mode is available now for Claude Code users with extra usage enabled (use /fast). It’s also available in research preview on Cursor, Emergent, Factory, Figma, GitHub Copilot, Lovable, v0 by Vercel, and Windsurf. We plan to expand API access to more customers. And, in a first for our Opus-class models, Opus 4.6 features a 1M token context window in beta. Opus 4.6 can apply its improved abilities to a range of everyday work tasks: running financial analyses, doing research, and using and creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Within Cowork, where Claude can multitask autonomously, Opus 4.6 can put all these skills to work on your behalf. We're also shipping new features and updates: In Claude Code, you can now spin up agent teams that coordinate autonomously.
