Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.
History is littered with hundreds of conflicts over the future of a community, group, location or business that were "resolved" when one of the parties stepped ahead and destroyed what was there. With the original point of contention destroyed, the debates would fall to the wayside. Archive Team believes that by duplicated condemned data, the conversation and debate can continue, as well as the richness and insight gained by keeping the materials. Our projects have ranged in size from a single volunteer downloading the data to a small-but-critical site, to over 100 volunteers stepping forward to acquire terabytes of user-created data to save for future generations.
The main site for Archive Team is at archiveteam.org and contains up to the date information on various projects, manifestos, plans and walkthroughs.
This collection contains the output of many Archive Team projects, both ongoing and completed. Thanks to the generous providing of disk space by the Internet Archive, multi-terabyte datasets can be made available, as well as in use by the Wayback Machine, providing a path back to lost websites and work.
Our collection has grown to the point of having sub-collections for the type of data we acquire. If you are seeking to browse the contents of these collections, the Wayback Machine is the best first stop. Otherwise, you are free to dig into the stacks to see what you may find.
The Archive Team Panic Downloads are full pulldowns of currently extant websites, meant to serve as emergency backups for needed sites that are in danger of closing, or which will be missed dearly if suddenly lost due to hard drive crashes or server failures.
To use ArchiveBot, drop by #archivebot on EFNet. To interact with ArchiveBot, you issue commands by typing it into the channel. Note you will need channel operator permissions in order to issue archiving jobs. The dashboard shows the sites being downloaded currently.
There is a dashboard running for the archivebot process at http://www.archivebot.com.

Aspen Initiative Africa – Nairobi (AIA-N) is the first African affiliate of the Aspen Institute, drawing on a 75-year global legacy of values-based leadership, dialogue, and public service. From our base in Kenya, we convene Africa’s most dynamic thinkers, doers, and decision-makers to confront complex challenges, explore bold ideas, and co-create pathways toward a just, inclusive, and thriving future.
We are not implementers. We are convenors and consolidators: building bridges across sectors, surfacing wisdom from lived experience, and creating the conditions for deep, transformative exchange.
Through fellowships, seminars, salons, and public dialogues, we offer trusted spaces where leaders refresh, reflect, reconnect with their values, and reimagine what’s possible for Africa, and the world. Rooted in African realities and connected to a global network, AIA-N is where new narratives take root and systems-level change begins.
Together with our partners across the continent and the broader Aspen community, we are building a legacy of courageous leadership, principled action, and smarter collaboration.

We prepare Africa’s next generation for the future of work. Through policy labs, strategic convenings, and storytelling, Aspen Africa addresses the changing job landscape shaped by AI and automation, while elevating the untapped potential of sports and the creative economy as engines for opportunity, identity, and growth.
We amplify African voices in the global climate conversation. From carbon markets to nutrition transitions, Aspen Africa fosters dialogue and policy innovation around Africa’s unique climate challenges and regenerative strengths, building a future where sustainability and sovereignty go hand in hand.
We strengthen democratic resilience through ethical inquiry and cross-sector dialogue. Our programs explore the evolving roles of legacy media, digital platforms, and faith-based communities in upholding justice, trust, and civic accountability in Africa’s fast-changing political landscape.
We catalyze inclusive growth by restoring trust in business, expanding access to ethical innovation, and unlocking Africa’s entrepreneurial potential. Whether convening around future jobs, fintech, or trade, Aspen Africa builds bridges between the private sector, policy, and the public good.
We create space for Africans to define themselves, for themselves. Through deep, often uncomfortable conversations, Aspen Africa examines identity, philosophy, and cultural memory, bringing classical and African perspectives to bear on questions of belonging, gender, belief, and purpose.
We collaborate with institutions across Africa and the globe to co-create meaningful, cross-sector solutions. From think tanks to governments, creative networks to climate coalitions, we convene partners who share our commitment to ethical leadership and systems-level change.
