I keep spotlighting builders in the Base44 community! 🔦🔦 And today’s one is just beautiful: InstantFamilyPhoto, built by Tristan Rhodes. Tristan built an app for a common problem: the family photo that never actually happens, because someone simply didn’t make it: The cousin who overslept, the uncle who wasn’t in town, or the father that took the photo. He asked himself: What if there was an app that could create that photo anyway? So he built InstantFamilyPhoto (link in comments), an AI app that can fix family drama: Upload separate photos of your family members → choose a style → BOOM the app generates one stunning group portrait as if everyone was there together 📸 All powered by Gemini Nano Banana for the actual photo generation. His first real user was his mom. They had a family wedding where one sister couldn’t attend. She uploaded the photos into the app, picked a style, and got a complete family portrait with everyone in it. A moment that never happened..restored. And the result isn’t just a cool AI idea. It’s a meaningful, thoughtful product, and it looks amazing: Clean UI, Simple, intuitive flow, great structure, tons of styles (anime, pop art, watercolor, oil painting, 3D render, and more). Everything about this feels warm, polished, and well-crafted. Beyond the core app, he’s been building a lot: A full custom admin dashboard, an AI agent connected to his FAQ/payments/photos data, new creative use cases, and more under the hood. We've shipped a lot in the last few weeks. Here's a quick recap in case you blinked: - View and restore recently deleted records Accidentally delete something? Deleted records stick around for 30 days so you can recover them from any table. - Speech-to-text in the Builder Record audio and it'll automatically transcribe to text for faster building. - New mode to see your app exactly as any user sees it. Perfect for debugging issues, understanding their experience, or taking action on their behalf. - NPM packages inside Base44 Pull in external tools to connect services, generate shareable links, or add features that would otherwise take hours to build. - Publish previous versions easily Jump to any previous version in your history and publish it directly (no reverting needed). - Workspace templates Create and share templates within your workspace so your team starts from a better foundation instead of rebuilding the same things. Last week, we hosted a group of our users at our offices to gather feedback, build together, and give them an early look at new features before anyone else.👀 One of them was Amit Swissa, founder of Stela360. With zero coding experience, she’s been able to take her company to a whole new level using Base44. She now builds personalized plans for her customers and expands her business by giving them true 360° support. We bring users in to teach, guide, and gather feedback... but the truth is, we learn just as much from them. Staying directly connected to our users is one of the most important parts of what we do, and seeing them succeed is the real measure of our success. More of these sessions coming soon.
A little NPM playground for you 🎢
OK, Base44 now supports NPM packages…so I decided to build something I’ve been wanting for a long time..a Super-library full of different components! NPM packages let you bring web libraries—animations, UI kits, 3D, charts, logic, media tools—directly into your apps. That means premium motion, smarter interactions (drag & drop, gestures, validation), polished UI, modern dashboards, media tools, and a whole layer of creativity. So… I built an NPM Playground! 🎠🛝 Together with the amazing Ron Shahar. In this playground (link in comments) you can explore different interactive components powered by these packages. Think animations, 3D effects, charts, inputs, hover states, scroll effects… all the fun stuff. Take any of these components and use them in your own apps, remix them, restyle them, and push them in completely different directions. The playground is just a starting point. See something you want in your own app? 👉 Copy the package name and just ask Base44 to use it. And if you know a package others should try — share it from the playground or drop it in the comments.
