1. I created a planning mode that instructs to create a plan in the form of a todo list.

We were not allowed to render the very dangerous and insecure html input elements but I think we should do it

In Beast Mode, I tell it to be sure to generate the todo as markdown and wrap that in triple backticks to get around this issue. But it still on occasion tries to render the HTML and I get exactly what @kieferrm gets above. Beyond that, markdown code blocks aren't ideal because the user can copy them out - which is a weird interaction.
