The importance of interprofessional education and practice has been well documented for all health care disciplines. Our health care delivery system is challenged by the need to prepare health professions graduates with skills that get them ready to function as collaborative members of the health care team. Educators have long struggled to create interprofessional learning environments that would inculcate the needed values and competencies. The purpose of this article is to share one institution's path in developing an integrated context for learning across several disciplines to assure that graduates can fulfill their full professional roles in clinical care, education, advocacy, leadership, and quality improvement. Through a program called IMPACT Practice, the MGH Institute of Health Professions has developed an array of opportunities for students from different programs to interact with each other, emphasizing the collaborative skills that will benefit patients and clients as well as contribute to positive change within the health care system. These opportunities are based on core competencies developed by the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) as well as institutional core competencies that go beyond IPEC to address the full professional role. In the second part of this article, the IMPACT experience will be described through the journey of one student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program.

Tinder is a frequently used geosocial networking application that allows users to meet sexual partners in their geographical vicinity. Research examining Tinder use and its association with behavioral outcomes is scarce. The objectives of this study were to explore the correlates of Tinder use and risky sexual behaviors in young adults. Participants aged 18-26 were invited to complete an anonymous online questionnaire between January and May 2016. Measures included sociodemographic characteristics, Tinder use, health related behaviors, risky sexual behaviors, and sexual attitudes. Associations among these variables were estimated using multivariate logistic regressions. The final sample consisted of 415 participants (n = 166 Tinder users; n = 249 nonusers). During the 3rd International Symposium on Dietary Therapies held in Chicago, Illinois, there was a first-ever, half-day session devoted to the management of adults with epilepsy and other disorders with dietary treatments. Speakers from 3 different continents shared their successes, challenges, and future directions in their management of these patients. Diets used to treat adults included the classic ketogenic diet, the modified Atkins diet, and a low glycemic index treatment. The utility of dietary therapies was demonstrated not only in patients with epilepsy but also patients with propriospinal myoclonus, astrocytoma, type 2 diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia, and metabolic disorder. The session provided evidence that dietary therapies are safe and effective in adults.

BACKGROUND The Prechtl General Movement Assessment (GMA) is a reliable tool for the functional assessment of the young nervous system. It is based on a global assessment of the quality of infants' movements. In addition, detailed steps of assessment have been developed - one for preterm and term age, and one for use between 3 and 5 months. Depression is a highly prevalent psychiatric disorder, impacting females at a rate roughly twice that of males. This disparity has become the focus of many studies which are working to determine if there are environmental or biological underpinnings to depression pathology. The biology of depression is not well understood, but experts agree that a key neurotransmitter of interest is serotonin. Most research on basic serotonin neurochemistry, by us and others, has predominantly focused on male models. Thus, it is now critical to include female models to decipher possible fundamental differences between the sexes that may underlie this disorder. In this paper, we seek to determine any such differences using fast-scan cyclic voltammetry (FSCV) and fast-scan controlled adsorption voltammetry. We examined whether cultural sexism (county- and state-level gender attitudes) moderates the efficacy of psychotherapies by re-analyzing data from a previous meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of youth psychotherapy for the most commonly targeted problems (depression, anxiety, conduct, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder; 2,698 effect sizes (ESs); 314 studies; N=19,739; ages 4-18). Higher cultural sexism was associated with lower ESs for studies with 50% girls; this association became stronger as the proportion of girls in the samples increased. Cultural sexism was unrelated to ESs for studies with >50% boys. An interaction between state- and county-level sexism revealed that psychotherapies were most beneficial when they were conducted in states and counties with the lowest cultural sexism. Thus, the context in which psychotherapies are delivered is associated with psychotherapy efficacy for girls.

This paper aims at presenting a new methodology to study how perceptual and motor processes organized themselves in order to achieve invariant visual information picking-up in virtual immersions. From a head-mounted display, head and eye movements were recorded using tracking devices (magnetic and infrared) that render the six degrees-of-freedom associated with the position and orientation of head movements, and two degrees-of-freedom from one eye. We measured the continuous line of sight's deviation from a pre-selected area on a virtual stimulus. Some preliminary analyses of the dynamical properties of the emergent perceptual and motor patterns are presented as they are considered to be representative of the process of affordance extraction.

Formation of amyloid-beta (Abeta){1-42} amyloid fibrils, a characteristic feature of Alzheimer's disease (AD), was monitored in situ through atomic force microscopy (AFM). Well-structured amyloid fibrils slowly formed in solution within 24 hours for which high quality AFM pictures could be obtained. Remarkably, addition of either copper(II) or zinc(II) ions to the incubation medium, even at extremely low molar ratios, dramatically changed the Abeta {1-42} aggregation profile and prevented fibril formation. Aggregates of different morphology appeared in accordance with previous observations: small globular aggregates upon addition of zinc; ill-structured micro-aggregates in the case of copper. The implications of these AFM results are discussed in the context of current concepts for AD metallobiology.

Background Internet-delivered cognitive behavior therapy (iCBT) is effective in treating anxiety and depression. Research on how these interventions operate is scarce. This study explored whether emotion regulation skills and positive beliefs about rumination were affected by iCBT and if these constructs mediated changes in depression and anxiety. Methods This is a secondary analysis of a pragmatic randomized waitlist-controlled trial testing the effectiveness of supported iCBT. Adults with at least mild symptoms of depression or anxiety were included. Depression (PHQ-9), anxiety (GAD-7), positive beliefs about rumination (PBRS-A) and two emotion regulation skills: cognitive reappraisal (ERQ-A) and expressive suppression (ERQ-S), were measured at baseline and 8-weeks post-treatment.
