SUMMARY

In 1948, according to the decision of the Provisional Democratic Government of Greece, about 28.000 children were evacuated from its territory and placed in so-called countries of Eastern democracy. Particularly high involvement in the care of these children had Yugoslavia, which accepted most of them, and simultaneously represent the travel destination and transit to other countries.

The entire action tоок place in the organization of the Red Cross of Yugoslavia, whо for this purpose opened a number of children's homes in several Yugoslav republics. In NRM were also opened several such institutions, including the home "Lazo Trpovski" in Bitola.It began to work in 1951, when first 92 children were settled.

In the first year of its work, everyday life of children took place in satisfactory physical and hygienic conditions, with sufficient amounts of food and clothing for each child. Apart from the educational process, which covered all the residents, children life was carried out through a number of cultural and recreational extracurricular activities. In the next period, the situation in the home continuously deteriorated what was attributable to frequent change of its managers. Beside this condition of the home, however children showed solid results in all aspects of the educational process as a basis for their full incorporation into the current socio-political and cultural everyday.
