Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.
History is littered with hundreds of conflicts over the future of a community, group, location or business that were "resolved" when one of the parties stepped ahead and destroyed what was there. With the original point of contention destroyed, the debates would fall to the wayside. Archive Team believes that by duplicated condemned data, the conversation and debate can continue, as well as the richness and insight gained by keeping the materials. Our projects have ranged in size from a single volunteer downloading the data to a small-but-critical site, to over 100 volunteers stepping forward to acquire terabytes of user-created data to save for future generations.
The main site for Archive Team is at archiveteam.org and contains up to the date information on various projects, manifestos, plans and walkthroughs.
This collection contains the output of many Archive Team projects, both ongoing and completed. Thanks to the generous providing of disk space by the Internet Archive, multi-terabyte datasets can be made available, as well as in use by the Wayback Machine, providing a path back to lost websites and work.
Our collection has grown to the point of having sub-collections for the type of data we acquire. If you are seeking to browse the contents of these collections, the Wayback Machine is the best first stop. Otherwise, you are free to dig into the stacks to see what you may find.
The Archive Team Panic Downloads are full pulldowns of currently extant websites, meant to serve as emergency backups for needed sites that are in danger of closing, or which will be missed dearly if suddenly lost due to hard drive crashes or server failures.

As a student, you already know how important studying is to being successful in your studies. You could choose to study on your own or you could join a study group. Here are six benefits that group study can give you:
If you put off studying until the last minute, regularly scheduled group study sessions can eliminate your procrastination. You will have a set time for studying and are accountable to your group members, which makes it less likely you will procrastinate about your studies.
Students in study groups usually learn faster than students who study alone. If you don’t understand a concept, you can ask your fellow group members questions that will help you understand. Having someone clear up your confusion saves time that you would have spent trying to figure out difficult concepts.
Studying with a group allows you to compare your notes with other students. If you aren’t a great note taker, you can see how other students take notes and fix any errors you might have. If you’re a great note taker, you can help your fellow students fill in the gaps with their notes.
Being part of a study group allows you to observe different types of study methods. Your own study methods might be good, but you may also be able to sharpen your skills by adding new methods that your group study members are using.
Spending a lot of time alone studying can become monotonous. Joining a study group can add a social aspect to your study routine. It also gives you an outlet for discussing topics that you are struggling with at school with other students.
As an effective collaborator and valuable part of the workforce, you will need to have people skills and a good ability to communicate. Group study can help you develop these soft skills, which will help you throughout your career.
Tips for Virtual Study Groups
In addition to the list on this page, you can find other great suggestions at...
Scheduling:
Agree on a time that works for everyone. Don't wait until the last minute, in case of unforeseen technical issues.
Remember to consider time zones! Convert times at https://www.timeanddate.com/
Communicating:
Make sure that everyone is clear on meeting days and times. Exchange contact information in case of Zoom or internet issues (especially during the winter months!)
Planning:
Schedules are tight and Zoom fatigue is real, so plan to use your meeting time efficiently. Try to set an agenda or have a clear end-goal.
Working:
Consider appointing a host or moderator to keep the group on-task and manage features like letting people in and out, screenshare, etc.
Take advantage of collaborative tools like Google Docs and the Zoom Whiteboard (under screen sharing).
Avoid the temptation to be distracted by social media, phone, e-mails, other work etc.
Build in time for breaks and socializing.
Closing:
Aim to end on time. People might have other commitments (and feel less able to leave than they would in-person).
Agree on and document a list of next-steps before leaving.
Consider scheduling your next meeting while everyone is still on the call.
