When you create and launch an AWS Directory Service managed directory, you pay only for the type and size of directory you use. There is no up-front commitment and no minimum fee. You can delete your directories at any time. The prices listed below are based on the region in which your directory is running.
You can try AWS Directory Service for free. The first time you create an AWS Directory Service for Microsoft Active Directory (Enterprise Edition), i.e. Microsoft AD, a small Simple AD, or a small AD Connector, you are eligible for a free trial. The trial provides you with 750 hours of usage. This will allow you to run a single directory for 1 month, or a combination of directories for up-to 750 hours. Once your free trial expires or your usage exceeds 750 hours, you will be charged for your directory at the standard pay-as-you-go rate. Unused hours expire at the end of your free trial.
