Most of what matters fits in 100 metrics. When data connects through a semantic layer, AI moves from dashboard to decision-maker. 🚀 Our founder Chandra Narayanan dives deeper in the latest Opinionated Intelligence piece → https://lnkd.in/exM6dpfQ

Only 100 Metrics Matter. In every business, a small core of signals explains nearly everything. About 100 metrics capture 90% of what’s happening. Around 50 events define how users and systems behave. And roughly 150 key characteristics — the traits of users, products, or content — shape most outcomes. The rest sits in the long tail: useful for edge cases, but not what drives your business daily. The future isn’t just tracking more data — it’s understanding it. When metrics are connected in a semantic layer with its relationships, your data becomes a reasoning system. AI can then see relationships, trace "causality", and move from “what happened” to “why” and “what’s next.” With a foundation of 50 events, 100 metrics, and 150 characteristics, AI stops being a dashboard — and starts being a partner in thinking about your business/product.
