We can't wait to host Elevate Xchange. Right now, many security teams are shifting focus from vulnerabilities (CVEs) to #misconfigurations because misconfigurations often create more immediate and more common real-world risk. We are eager to learn how you manage risk! Thank you Robin Austin for including us!
Dallas next week. We’re excited to be part of Elevate Xchange on March 18 at Stonebriar Country Club. Always valuable to step out of the inbox and into real conversations with security practitioners. A big theme we’re seeing: risk doesn’t just come from vulnerabilities. It often comes from misconfigured security tools and drift. That’s why we’ve built domain-specific AI models that help teams identify blind spots, prioritize action, guide remediation, and continuously validate that security controls are working as environments change. In practice, Reach becomes an operating system across the controls organizations already rely on. Don't miss it. If you’re attending, come say hello to the Reach team. Big thank you to Robin Austin for hosting us and putting together a special event.

I'm stoked to announce that Hillpost.dev is live! I teamed up with Morris Richman after we spent the past few months hosting hackathons in SF, with over 300 hackers and more than $1M in aggregate sponsorship. (Shout out frontiertower!) While we were proud to pull these off, the same problem kept happening time and time again. The hackathon would be going great.... but then judging would take 2hrs+ longer than expected and throw everything off. We've tried other judging platforms but decided to take things in-house after our judging infrastructure was reduced to yet another spreadsheet. We knew it could be better. So we built hillpost.dev, a real-time hackathon judging platform where teams compete on a live leaderboard as judges score submissions. Whether you're organizing an event, judging one, or hacking at one, Hillpost was built with you in mind. Check it out, and if you're at an upcoming event of ours, I hope to see you there! Peace, love, and happy building!!

Final post about #RSAC this year, I promise! The theme of this year’s conference was the Power of Community. The cybersecurity world is a tight-knit one, and that sense of connection was one of my biggest takeaways from the week. I had the chance to chat with Gianna Whitver, Co-Founder & CEO of Cybermarketing Society (a fantastic community in its own right, and we loved hosting their Party for Marketers to kick off the week!). Alongside my colleague Catherine Coffey (Jones), we recorded a quick video Q&A reflecting on the event. A few highlights: ➡️ Every year, vendors raise the bar on how they break through the noise, and the creativity on the show floor never disappoints (the interactive games this year were my favorite!) ➡️ Pack your walking shoes… seriously (15K+ steps just in and around Moscone on Tuesday alone) ➡️ And of course, the best part: reconnecting with clients, partners, and industry friends Grateful to be part of a community that shows up like this year after year. 🎥 Take a look at the conversation here.

I've had the opportunity to present twice at RootedCON PT and I'm planning to submit again this year. Back in 2024, I improvised a talk with my friend Pedro Umbelino: "Ética, cada qual tem a sua" ("Ethics, everyone has their own"), sparked by a recurring question from the audience about responsible disclosure. This year, I want to take that conversation further diving into ethics, regulation, and organizational maturity, and the long road we still have ahead. But more importantly: RootedCON PT is always better when more voices are part of the conversation. If you've been thinking about submitting a talk, this is your sign. And if not, make sure to attend. The discussions are always worth it. https://reg.rootedcon.com/

The Bishop Fox Mexico team continues to raise the bar for offensive security. This year, they secured first place at both #HackMex Finals and the #EkoParty #RedTeam Space CTF, marking a third consecutive win at EkoParty. From web exploitation and infrastructure privilege escalation to AWS identity abuse and credential chaining, the competitions tested the same adversary-driven methodology our researchers apply in real-world engagements. Luis De la Rosa breaks down the challenges and what these competitions reveal about modern offensive security. Read the blog: https://lnkd.in/gstrYrzt Attending HackGDL in Guadalajara? Behind every breakthrough, there's a community. That moment you finally crack a tough concept? It often starts with someone else saying, "I was stuck there too, here's what worked for me." Cybersecurity can feel isolating: endless tools to learn, threats that never stop evolving, and that nagging voice saying "am I even cut out for this?" But when you surround yourself with people who GET it—people who celebrate your small wins, debug your scripts at midnight, and push you forward—you don't just survive... you accelerate. That's exactly what The Victor Akinode Initiatives is building: a real crew for aspiring and emerging cybersecurity pros. Not just courses, but accountability, mentorship, shared breakthroughs, and genuine support so no one grinds alone.
Behind every breakthrough, there's a community. Someone brave enough to ask, "Hey, I'm stuck can you help?" Someone generous enough to say, "I just cracked this here's how." Someone showing up on the hard days even when motivation's running low. Let's be real: cybersecurity isn't entry-level, the concepts are dense, threats keep evolving, and when you're grinding through it solo, it's easy to hit walls. But throwing yourself into the right room make things click and what felt impossible starts feeling doable. That's what we're building at The Victor Akinode Initiatives not just another learning platform but a real crew. People who lift each other up, celebrate the small wins, and keep each other in the game when quitting looks tempting. Because here's the truth, lasting growth doesn't happen in a vacuum. It happens when we figure it out together. Join The Victor Akinode Initiatives community to get access to this: https://lnkd.in/eJnDZWhb or Scan the code.
