I've always admired Shopify for delivering on a promise of making commerce better for everyone. Tinker has potential to help a lot of people on their commerce journey. I've also admired Shopify's desire to move fast and iterate. You can feel "vibes" that generated this app. Lots of ambition, janky AF, and lacking polish. I wouldn't be surprised if much of this was the product of a swarm of agents on a YOLO run. That may sound like harsh critique, but they're going to learn more by shipping and fixing what's broken than they would have by over thinking it. And since this isn't core to the Shopify product, there was little risk shipping something with some room for improvement. There's a life lesson in there for all of us. Tinker is going to give a lot of people access to powerful capabilities that may have seemed out of reach. And even if it's a bit janky now, it's a lot better than 20 different subscriptions and fighting with legacy tools. I can't wait to see version 1.1. I hope it includes a CLI version.
