LiteLLM is one of several vendors that got popped by TeamPCP through a software supply chain attack that leveraged Trivy. Hearing Palantir Technologies CEO statements, and general US sentiment for tech, is it far-fetched to see US companies moving to the UK to protect their IP? If I were on the Anthropic board, I would give this some consideration. But also, if I had any influence over the UK policy –or the EU for that matter– I would be considering what type of incentives are needed to support this. It would be ironic, but not surprising, to see a resurgence of European tech on the back of US companies fleeing from a bigger boogieman. All of a sudden, overregulation sounds almost innocuous if the price of extreme deregulation is a lack of observance for the rule of law in the name of national security. I have seen firsthand some of this mechanism at play when totalitarian governments in Argentina would decide to nationalize entire companies 'for the greater good of the Nation'. Other countries who have taken similar approaches are far from being in the top 10 of innovators. Sadly, I do not think the UK is prioritizing a more welcoming environment for new businesses (you only need to compare with Ireland, with a CT ~50% lower and full access to EU markets) to understand what 'welcoming' looks like.

The "Single Point of Failure" No One Puts in the Pitch Deck. I’ve spent the last few years at Startup Graveyard Africa analysing why businesses collapse. We talk about market fit, capital, and governance. But lately, I’ve been forced to look at a different data point: biological debt. Dealing with health issues while trying to build something as meaningful as Grave Intel has been an exhausting lesson in technical priority. In software, we build redundancies. In business, we hire backups. But in the early stages of a startup, the founder is often the entire server room. If that server goes down, the mission stops. My takeaways from the "Sick-Bed" Sprint: - Health is Infrastructure: It’s not a luxury; it’s the hardware your software runs on. - Pre-Mortem Thinking: Grave Intel (https://graveintel.com/) is about spotting red flags early. Now, I’m applying that same logic to my own capacity. - Rest is a Feature, Not a Bug: Sometimes the most "productive" thing you can do for the company is to hit the 'Sleep' command.
