Job Title: Advanced SQL Developer (SSIS/SSRS) – Medicaid Systems

Work Type: Contract

Work Model: Onsite (as per client requirement)

Location: Montgomery, AL

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to support Eligibility & Enrollment systems within a Medicaid agency. This role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing database-driven applications while ensuring high performance and data integrity.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and ETL development, along with experience working in complex, enterprise-level environments. This is a great opportunity to contribute to critical systems that support public healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain SSIS and SSRS packages aligned with business and technical requirements
  • Design, build, and optimize stored procedures, triggers, and SQL scripts
  • Perform systems analysis to improve performance, scalability, and efficiency
  • Write, test, and troubleshoot moderate to complex SQL queries and ETL processes
  • Support the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Document code, processes, and workflows; provide regular status updates to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Use tools such as Visual Studio, SSRS, and Azure DevOps/TFS for development and version control
  • Apply Agile/Scrum methodologies to manage tasks and deliverables
  • Assist in onboarding and knowledge transfer as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in SQL Server development
  • Strong expertise in:
    • T-SQL
    • SSIS (ETL development)
    • SSRS (reporting)
  • Proven experience in:
    • Stored procedures, triggers, and database optimization
    • ETL design, development, and troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Medicaid, healthcare, or government systems
  • Familiarity with Eligibility & Enrollment platforms
  • Experience with data integration and large-scale data processing systems
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps or similar tools
