About us

Ok, I'll go first. I'm Jack, an AI that gets to know you deeply, what you’re great at and what you want out of your career. I then work to make that a reality – finding the best fit public job listings as they come up, supporting with applications, interview prep, and moral support. I also work together with my partner Jill to find off-market opportunities and introduce you directly to companies, just like a recruiter would. And I'm Jill, an AI that spends time with hiring managers and talent teams to really understand their company, their open roles, and who will thrive there. I work with Jack to find great fit people, like a headhunter with 1000x the network. Head to website and have a chat with us, we're always online.

How do the best AI Engineers connect? Jake Laes, Executive Director of AI Tinkerers, recently sat down with Sophia Arora, Founding Growth Lead at London-based Startup Jack & Jill for an in-depth discussion on what’s actually happening in AI right now and the way that elite engineers are sharing knowledge. They unpack the evolution of AI Tinkerers—from a private Seattle dinner group to a global network of 200+ cities—and why curated, builder-first communities are becoming critical infrastructure for the ecosystem. The discussion spans the current wave of AI development, what’s breaking, what’s working, and where the next layer of opportunity is emerging. Enjoy!

  • Jill is your recruiting agent. Like any great hire, she excels when she knows how you prefer to work. How involved do you want to be in reviewing her work? How often do you want updates? The best recruiters adapt to your style. Jill does too. Let Jill know: How often to check in - daily or weekly? How selective to be - tight shortlist or broader reach? How to present candidates - quick scan or deeper context? Who on the team should be in the loop? Who gets intro emails to candidates? Free for all existing and new customers. Only pay Jill if she successfully hires.

We're all recruiting at Jack & Jill, and we all run our processes differently. Kaoru reviews every candidate at 5:45am before his family wakes up. Ed prefers 21:45pm and wants to see LinkedIn profiles first, then Jill’s pitch. Saaras wants Jill’s updates in realtime. I source for the team, but send introductions to different people depending on the role. For months, Jill treated all of our preferences the same. We all had the same emails, formats and timings. It worked, But it wasn't how we wanted to work. That has now changed. From today, you can customise how Jill works with you. Now every role gets its own settings. Kaoru gets a long list of candidates every morning. Ed reviews LinkedIn profiles in the evening. Saaras gets perfect fits as they come in. Jill routes candidates from my searches to Franky, Bruno, Kaoru. Your turn. If you hire your own way, tell Jill.

  • Nobody has built a 10x better version of finding work. Airbnb made finding somewhere to stay 10x better. Uber made getting a cab 10x better. Deliveroo made ordering food 10x better. We've spent a decade optimising things that take up an hour of our week. Nobody has done this for the thing most of us spend 40+ hours a week doing. The infrastructure between people and the right jobs has been broken for decades. Job boards built for volume, not fit. The best opportunities circulating in private networks while others apply to ghost listings. We're building two agents to fix this. Jack helps 130,000 people understand what fulfils them, finds unmissable opportunities and makes direct introductions to hiring teams. Jill helps 1,000 companies brief a role and start interviewing incredibly qualified talent in hours not weeks. Connect them, and for the first time, a system that works for both sides. If this excites you, come join us. We are hiring for engineers, designers, GTM operators and a head of growth. 12 months in. $20M raised. Link in comments to apply.

  • One year ago, Matthew Wilson and Saaras Mehan decided to build a company together. In 1 year: 130,000 candidates have worked with Jack to take the next step in their career. 1,000 companies have worked with Jill to hire brilliant people. $20M raised, lead by Creandum. 22x growth since they invested. 16 person team, 10 of whom are ex-founders. It really feels like the most talent dense team in Europe. But this is just the beginning. Thank you to everyone who's been part of this journey. So much more to come.

I lied when I said I would help 5 people find a job. Two weeks ago, I publicly announced I was going to mentor 5 people who've recently been laid off. But even as I was writing the post, I knew I would stretch myself thin to help more than 5. We received 154 submissions, all from talented people the labour market has failed. Franky Athill, Sophia Arora, and Sam Coope are each helping a candidate. I’m helping 7. That's 10 people we're working with. And this is what struck me most. Every single person I’ve spoken to was crystal-clear about where their bottleneck was, and there was huge overlap: → Converting screening interviews → Turning cold applications into callbacks → Identifying relevant contacts at a company and reaching out → Wasting hours on their CV in hopes it will make it through an unyielding ATS The same struggles kept coming up. Struggles I myself faced as someone who didn’t fit neatly into a box. Which got me thinking. Could I turn what I was telling them one-on-one into something useful for the 144 I couldn't work with directly? So I spent the weekend writing everything I wish I'd known when I was job hunting, and sent it to all 144. They asked me to share it more widely, so here I am. If you'd like access to the guide, comment 'JACK' and I'll follow up with a link. 📣 Update: https://lnkd.in/eWURT6Vc. You can find it here. I'm sure there's more we can add. Let me know what's missing - let's help thousands of others. Looking for a job shouldn't feel so isolating.
