Attracting the right talent in the London Market can be a challenge — especially as candidates are taking a more cautious approach right now and opting to stay put in their current roles. With uncertainty rising and significant restructures across the global insurance industry, stability is often prioritised over progression. In a relationship-driven market like the London Market, understanding people’s priorities and industry nuances is key. At Hanson Lee, our team know the insurance sector inside out, helping both clients and candidates navigate hiring decisions with confidence. If you’re thinking about your next move, or how to secure the right talent in this environment, feel free to reach out to Ben Sua Kay, Matthew Jay, Iman Jeneker and Jonathan Blondel — we’re happy to talk it through.

As we move further into 2026, we’re seeing rising demand for blended skill sets across the London Market. Whilst insurance expertise is critical, its impact grows tenfold when combined with strong soft skills. In a market built on relationships, strong communication, networking and stakeholder management are highly valued. At the same time, digital, data and transformation skills are in demand — but they tend to have the most impact when paired with core people skills. A mix of London Market knowledge, technical capability and the ability to work well with others is what sets professionals apart. If you’re thinking about your next move, or how to build this into your team, feel free to reach out to Ben Sua Kay, Matthew Jay, Iman Jeneker or Jonathan Blondel — we’re always happy to have a conversation.

Great to see our CEO Lee Blasdale supporting and attending DIFC Insurance Association’s Cover to Cover Quiz Social at the Capital Club in Dubai last week. It was a brilliant evening bringing together a very knowledgeable (and competitive!) crowd from across the UAE insurance market. A strong reminder of the value of staying connected as a community 🤝
Thoroughly enjoyed supporting and attending the DIFC Insurance Association (DIFCIA) Cover to Cover Quiz Social at the Capital Club last week — an evening where the competition was fierce and the trivia knowledge even fiercer! 🧠✨ Hanson Lee was delighted to sponsor the event alongside the Chartered Insurance Institute Middle East, bringing together many familiar faces from across the regional insurance market. From insurance insights to “how did you know that?!” moments, the quiz rounds certainly kept everyone on their toes 😉 A special thank you to Philip Story, Chairman at DIFCIA, for his warm opening remarks and continued leadership within the DIFC insurance community. Particular thanks as well to Chantal Sciarappa from DIFCIA & Gaenor Jones and her fantastic CII team for delivering such a brilliantly organised event (and Jono for keeping the scoring honest!). Working with firms across the UAE, we know evenings like this do more than test general knowledge — they strengthen connections, spark conversations, and keep the region’s market moving forward. Thank you to everyone who joined us and embraced the competitive spirit. We’re already brushing up on our trivia and looking forward to the next one! 🎉
