Under the MODENA Food Hub initiative, and through our “Thoughtful Living, Meaningful Giving” sustainable Ramadan campaign, we turned reflection into action by partnering with Scholars of Sustenance Indonesia Rescue Kitchen program to support residents of Kampung Gasong, a waste-picker area in Menteng Atas. Together with Modenese volunteers, we distributed over 100 iftar meals to families living near an informal waste collection site while rescuing more than 61 kilograms of surplus food that would have otherwise gone to waste. In one collective effort, we addressed food insecurity, reduced food waste, and strengthened community resilience: a meaningful reflection of SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

Welcoming the holy month of Ramadan, we are expanding our MODENA Pure Hub initiative by inaugurating free water refill stations at Masjid Agung Al Azhar, Kebayoran Baru. As Ramadan is a time of reflection, worship, and togetherness, with daily congregations reaching approximately 1,500 worshippers, these stations are designed to support proper hydration, especially during iftar and after nightly prayers. MODENA Pure Hub is a public water refill movement initiated in 2023 to provide free, safe, and accessible drinking water in community spaces. Rooted in the spirit of Ramadan—sharing, care, and community—the initiative not only ensures hygienic hydration through the use of MODENA Water Purifiers, but also promotes sustainable living by encouraging refill culture to reduce single-use plastic waste.
