    We wanted to give an update about our situation since many of our users and partners have been reaching out in the past few days. As many of you are aware, our iOS and Android apps were removed this week from the App Store and Google Play following media coverage that contained a number of inaccurate and misleading claims about our business. We have been working very hard in the last years to build a company that lasts and we are actively working with both Apple and Google to resolve this as we see them as key partners for further growth.     The best ideas come from great collaboration, and at Almedia we cultivate that both internally and externally. Last week, we hosted Gryphon Games at Almedia HQ for this very purpose. The team spent a day with us for creative brainstorming, idea generation, and collaboration, exactly the energy our space was built for. Being able to support one of Berlin's most promising young studios as they unlock fresh thinking is a real marker of how far we've come. At Almedia, our environment and culture is built for growth. Sharing that with Berlin's startup community, and helping incubate the next generation of gaming entrepreneurs, is a privilege we don't take for granted.

    At START Summit 2026 in St. Gallen, Europe’s largest student-run entrepreneurship conference, Almedia took the stage and brought our unique outlook to the next generation of founders. COO Jan Sommerfeld shared Almedia’s story in his fireside chat, Built to Fund Itself - No VC Required, on how we’ve scaled as a fully bootstrapped, profitable company. On day 2, Hakan Zirek and Jannik Thiesbrummel followed up with their interactive workshop, Unf*ck Advertising: Rebuilding the Global Adtech Model, in which we challenged attendees to rethink how digital advertising should work.     Back in December 2025, we looked into the crystal ball for 2026. We predicted that the rewarded UA ecosystem would consolidate, with smaller platforms absorbed as larger companies move to lock in their positions, similar to DSPs and ad networks did in the past. It’s been happening even faster than expected, though. In the past two weeks alone, over $300M has gone into acquiring rewarded platforms. NCSoft picked up 70% of JustPlay for $205M, then Nazara made a $100M deal for a controlling share of Bluetil Games and BestPlay. These aren't adtech companies fighting for dominance. NCSoft and Nazara are huge gaming conglomerates, paying nine figures not to advertise on rewarded platforms, but to own them. Want to know what else we predicted?     Over the weekend, we had the opportunity to welcome the Young Founders Network e.V. to our Berlin HQ. With Almedia building the next bootstrapped unicorn, it was a privilege to host Germany’s next generation of founders and incubate an environment where those willing to put the work in can learn the complexities and challenges of entrepreneurship. The YFN brought together chapters from all over Germany, so settled in for a busy weekend. After some intense games of Werewolf and time spent bonding with the Almedia team over burritos on Friday evening, the founders had a schedule filled with workshops, hackathons, and the election of the organisation’s new board. We look forward to hosting the YFN again soon, and will keep track of the projects we caught glimpses of over the weekend!
