Today Zip launched AI Contract Orchestration and I am genuinely proud of what this team built and what it means for the people who are going to use it. I have spent months in customer conversations, analyst briefings, and enablement sessions all centered on one problem: buy-side contracting is broken and everyone has been trying to fix it from the wrong starting point. What we built is different. These are AI agents that actually do the work. Automatically reviewing contracts against your legal playbook, surfacing risk, drafting language, routing agreements to the right people, and tracking every obligation long after signature. And because Zip already lives at the moment a contract is originated, the AI has context no standalone CLM will ever have. The numbers are already showing up. 51% reduction in contract cycle times. Outside legal hours cut in half. Manual contract requests down 50%. With customers like Dollar Tree Stores, N26, and Bandwidth Inc. already seeing results. AI Agents are coming to Procurement. But without Orchestration, they’ll simply be very fast at making the same old mess. I’ve spent a lot of time recently thinking about the promise of "Agentic AI"—those autonomous entities capable of sensing risk and sourcing suppliers in real-time. But there is a hard truth we need to address: an agent is only as effective as the environment in which it operates. I’m at Zip Forward in London today, and the theme "Agents of Change" feels spot on. For AI to move beyond the hype and into genuine enterprise application, it requires a robust orchestration layer. You simply cannot deploy an autonomous agent into a fragmented, manual process and expect a strategic result.
