Schwern Exonerated After Arrest
Michael Schwern was arrested by the Portland Police Bureau on September 19th for misdemeanor strangulation and harassment. He cooperated with the arrest and was released on bail the next day. The District Attorney's Office then declined to charge Mr. Schwern with any crime after reviewing the evidence, closing the case against him. His lawyer, Bear Wilner-Nugent, hopes reports on Mr. Schwern's arrest and charges will now also report his exoneration, and that his silence on the matter was on the lawyer's advice, relying on the presumption of innocence.
